The time limit in the Bernfield, Foley and Ashelford Tournaments is 30 moves in 90 minutes and thereafter 20 moves per hour. Any game played within one month of the competition deadline must be played with a quickplay finish, in which case the time limit is 30 moves in 90 minutes followed by 15 minutes quickplay finish. Before the one month deadline, games may also be played to a quickplay finish, provided both players agree to this before play commences. Any adjournment played within one month of the competition must also be played to a quickplay finish, with the clocks set back 15 minutes when the next time control is reached.

On completion of a game the result should be entered on the appropriate chart on the noticeboard. Please also notify the tournament controller direct as this helps him monitor the progress of tournaments. This can be done by telephone to Derek Hadley (01322 666197) and messages can be left on his answering machine. All games to be completed by 31 May 2008.

Ladder Tournament 2007-08

Lower placed players may challenge a higher placed player. If the lower placed player wins then they take the place immediately above their opponent. If the higher placed player wins, or if the game is a draw there's no change to the starting positions.

Games to be played at the rate of 30 moves in 75 minutes with an additional 15 minutes for quickplay finish. Results will be submitted for ECF grading.

All players who have not played by 31 January 2008 will drop below all active players regardless of result.
