Autumn General Meeting and Club Champion's Simultaneous Display, Tuesday 20th September

The prize-giving and simultaneous display was very well attended. Tim Pelling as club champion took on 20 players, an increase over last year's 18 competitors. Play began at 7.00pm, and by the interval Tim was embroiled in some very complicated struggles. First blood went to Karin Bayona with her well-deserved victory at 8.45pm. Nonetheless, Tim managed win through on the the vast majority of boards to score a magnificent 16/20.

The McGovern Trophy, for the best game played by a club member, was awarded to Peter Biggs, for his tidy win. Well done also to Alex, Erika, Ken and Jacques for drawing with Tim.
